Yummy Walks Tour Reviews

What a wonderful idea combining history, exercise and food. Even though I've lived here all my life and visited Boston often I still learned something about the immigrants that paved the way for all of us to enjoy this beautiful city. Knowledgeable tour guide and great food made for a very enjoyable 3 hour tour starting on the Boston Common and finishing in the North End. So put on some comfortable shoes and be prepared for a mouth watering experience. -GeriCharlotte, Charlotte

Although we are native New Englanders, we had never taken any tours of Boston, so Foods of the Freedom Trail was an excellent way to not only learn some of the history first hand, but also to enjoy it's culinary history. The tour started at Boston Commons and ended in the North End. Along with a number of historic points of interest - The North Church, the location of the Boston Massacre and the State House to name a few - we were treated to some wonderful foods such as Lobster Bisque, Boston Baked Beans and Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes. Towards the end of the tour, arriving in the North End, we were treated to some wonderful Italian foods - Arancini, Cannoli and a stop at an amazing Italian Deli. All in all, it was a great experience. The guide was knowledgeable and personable and I would do it again without hesitation. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes!! -DougGreen, Maine

Foods of the Freedom Trail started at Boston Common and ended in the North End. We followed the Freedom Trail and made 6 food stops along the way. Our tour guide, Barbara, was friendly and outgoing and extremely knowledgeable about Boston's history. We learned a lot. The food was not your typical bite sized samples that I have seen on other tours, it was full sized servings. My 2 favorites were the lobster bisque at Mooo and the cupcake at Sweet. I highly recommend this tour. -M. Shore Needham, MA

It was my birthday and some friends decided to take me on this Foods of the Freedom Trail tour. A nice selection of various Boston/New England type goodies were offered to us along with interesting comments from a knowledgable tour guide. Wear comfortable shoes. A bottle of water is included. I would have enjoyed a cup of coffee at the end of this tour along with the scrumptious cannoli. -Robbie, Boston

If you love history and food and want to get to know historic Boston then this is the tour for you. Yummy Walks is a first rate walking tour. Having taken the Boston Freedom Trail tour before I found this one to be superior in that it included as well as all the information given in the other tour, foods of Boston. We had an excellent lobster bisque in a lovely restaurant, Boston baked beans in a famous restaurant, Boston creme pie in a lovely bakery, Italian specialties in the North End which is predominantly Italian etc. All food portions were very large and we left the tour quite full! Our guide was very friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. The walk was a little over a mile some of which was over cobblestone. We felt we had seen and learned a lot of Boston and American history. I highly recommend this great tour. - E. Miller  Eliot, ME
